Ferguson for City Council

Ferguson for City Council 2024 is Omari Ferguson’s campaign for South Pasadena City Council District One. Nestled in the greater LA area, South Pasadena is known for its small-town charm and vibrant community. Omari isn’t your typical candidate, and his campaign required a bold visual identity that reflects his unique platform. It was essential that voters immediately recognize his fresh, distinct approach, setting him apart from other candidates and past council members.

identity design

Campaign season is filled with designs that feel all too familiar, so I set out to create a fresh, intriguing identity and a strong presence in the community. In local races, the most effective campaigns are those with a consistent visual language—one that keeps the candidate recognizable, even to constituents who aren’t following closely.

icon system

Custom icons that represent the three pillars of Omari’s platform: Responsive Leadership, Resilient Infrastructure, and Nurturing Community.

website design

The website is the cornerstone of the campaign’s online presence. It needed to put Omari’s platform front and center while being clear, accessible, and easy to navigate. Above all, it had to create a seamless connection between the campaign’s presence online and what voters experienced in person.

collateral

Various campaign collateral including: yard signs, postcards, door hangers, business cards, banners, t-shirts, and newspaper ads.

social media

Custom Instagram stories, posts, and strategic grid layout designed to drive engagement and create a compelling, visually cohesive campaign feed.

process

Preliminary logo and yard sign concepts.

outcome

This past November, Omari won the race for South Pasadena City Council District One, trouncing the incumbent! The designs resonated strongly with the community, and the results speak for themselves. I am deeply honored and truly fulfilled to have played a part in such a successful grassroots campaign.
